Vocational & Skills Education
Introduction
The Vocational and Skills Education Program equips displaced youth and women with practical, market-ready skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.
Through hands-on training in hairdressing, tailoring, and digital literacy, participants gain confidence, creativity, and the ability to build sustainable livelihoods.
Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy
Duration: 6 months
Beneficiaries: 165+ young women and girls
This program trains displaced women and girls in modern hairdressing and beauty techniques — fostering creativity, confidence, and financial independence.Learners are trained in hair styling, braiding, manicure, pedicure, and skincare. Sessions take place in community salons where participants serve real clients. Training also includes customer service, business management, and personal hygiene.
Upon graduation, trainees start home-based salons or form joint beauty ventures.
Success Story:
Amina opened her own beauty corner in Kakuma 3 and now employs two other trainees.

Tailoring & Dressmaking
Duration: 6 months

Digital Literacy & Life Skills Training
Duration: 3 months
Beneficiaries: 95+ children and youth
Empowers young people with ICT, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills for a connected world.Participants learn computer basics, internet navigation, and social media for education and business. Life skills modules include teamwork, leadership, and conflict resolution. Graduates often tutor others or start small online ventures.
Success Story:
Daniel, a 17-year-old from DRC, now teaches computer basics while running a small freelancing service.
