Life Skills for Better Future (LSBF) is a refugee-led community-based organization in Kakuma, Kenya, empowering displaced children, youth, and women with skills, livelihoods, and hope for a sustainable future.
Who We Are
Welcome to LSBF, Kakuma, Kenya
Founded in 2018, Life Skills for Better Future (LSBF) began as a small refugee self-help group the Beauty and Washing Products Makers Group (BWPG) teaching youth to make soaps and beauty products for income and independence.
Today, LSBF has evolved into a fully registered, refugee-led community organisation that delivers vocational training, livelihood development, psychosocial empowerment, and environmental action.
We believe displacement should not erase potential it should ignite possibility.

Building employable skills through hairdressing, tailoring, and digital literacy training.
Livelihood & Entrepreneurship
Supporting small businesses, smart farming, and eco-enterprises for self-reliance.
Environmental Sustainability
Planting trees, recycling waste, and training Climate Ambassadors for greener communities.
Child & Youth Empowerment
Providing creative arts, psychosocial healing, and emergency response support for children and families.

Founder’s Story
When Polydord Wasokye, a Congolese refugee, arrived in Kakuma, he turned adversity into action. With determination and hope, he mobilized fellow refugees to develop skills, create livelihoods, and restore dignity through community-based solutions.
