Our Impact

Empowering Refugees • Restoring Dignity • Building Resilience

Who we are

At Life Skills for Better Future (LSBF), we measure impact not just in numbers, but in lives transformed.
Every training, every tree planted, every smile restored represents resilience and hope reborn.

Since our founding in 2018, we’ve worked tirelessly in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Turkana West Sub County, Kenya, to turn displacement into opportunity — helping children, youth, and women to rebuild their futures through skills, livelihoods, environmental action, and psychosocial support.

Our Reach at a Glance

“We don’t wait for change — we create it. Together with our community, we’re proving that refugees are not aid recipients but agents of transformation.”
— Polydord Wasokye, Founder & Executive Director

Impact Story

Feza Lukambo – From Struggle to Strength Through Skills

Feza Lukambo, a mother of four, arrived in Kakuma Refugee Camp with a heart full of hope but little means to provide for her children. Like many displaced women, she faced daily challenges — limited job opportunities, rising living costs, and the constant worry of how to meet her family’s needs.

Everything began to change when Feza joined the Life Skills for Better Future (LSBF) vocational training program. She enrolled in the bar soap manufacturing course, where she learned practical skills in soap formulation, packaging, and small-scale business management.

Through hands-on training and mentorship, Feza discovered not just a skill — but a sustainable way to earn income. Today, she proudly runs her small soap-making enterprise, producing and selling affordable, quality bar soap within her neighborhood and nearby market areas.

The business has become a steady source of income, enabling her to buy food, pay school fees, and support her children’s health and wellbeing. Feza has also begun training other women in her community, passing on the same knowledge that transformed her life.

> “Before LSBF, I depended on aid and had no idea how to start a business,” Feza says with a smile. “Now, I earn from my own hands. My children can eat, go to school, and I have hope again.”

Feza’s story is a powerful example of how LSBF’s vocational and livelihood programs are helping refugee women rebuild their lives with dignity, confidence, and resilience — one skill at a time.
